Gaza's MoH declares state of emergency to confront Israeli Occupation aggression
The Ministry of Health (MoH) in the Gaza Strip announced Tuesday that it had activated a state of emergency and a health emergency plan, in parallel with its continuous efforts to confront the coronavirus.
The health authorities said they have raised their degree of preparedness in hospitals, and ambulance and emergency systems to prepare for more casualties and injuries in light of the Israeli Occupation's violence on Gazans.
The spokesman for the MoH, Ashraf Al Qidra, indicated during a press conference that emergency services have been activated within a set framework at the European Gaza Hospital to receive the wounded and provide treatments for injuries of various degrees.
He stressed that all the brutal attacks that take place adds weight to the health system, which is suffering from the repercussions of the blockade that extends for the 15th consecutive year, in parallel with the intensification of efforts to confront the coronavirus pandemic.
"Today it is required to deal with large and difficult numbers of injuries that need therapeutic and surgical interventions," said Qidra.
The MoH in the Gaza Strip condemned the Israeli Occupation planes targeting the vicinity of the quarantine center in the Rafah governorate, southern Gaza Strip, and considered it a blow to the efforts of the Ministry of Health in the face of the pandemic, especially after the decision to quarantine returnees from India, Bangladesh, and other countries in the wake of the spread of the Indian coronavirus mutation.
Qidra warned that targeting the electricity system in the Gaza Strip threatens work in hospitals that lack adequate quantities of fuel, and also affects the water supply for citizens and the work of sanitation stations, which will have a severe impact on public health and community health.
