New COVID-19 variant found in Brittany, France

A new coronavirus strain has been discovered in Brittany, France, announced the French Health Ministry in a statement late Monday, adding that the initial analysis did not show this new COVID-19 to be more lethal, serious, or transmissible than others.

The ministry said the new variant had been found in a handful of cases in a hospital center in Lannion.
