Irbid Chamber of Industry honors Chinese students who were attacked

The Irbid Chamber of Industry honored a number of Chinese students who were attacked a few days ago in the city of Irbid.

The head of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Hani Abu Hassan, said that the attack does not in any way express the morals of the people of Irbid, noting that the incident is totally and completely unacceptable.

"This incident was rejected and condemned by all groups of the Jordanian people."

Abu Hassan added that Jordanian people have been and are, since ancient times, a model of generosity in morals and hospitality and in good dealings with guests of Jordan from all over the world.

He stressed the importance of the distinguished Jordanian-Chinese relations between the two governments and the two peoples.

For their part, the students said that the accident was strange to them, especially since they have been in Jordan for years and that have always experienced kindness from the local community.

The students expressed their happiness with the reaction of the Jordanian society in light of the attack, as hundreds of citizens reached out to them and expressed their rejection of the incident and their solidarity with the students.

The authorities announced that the two people responsible for the attack have been arrested.

The perpetrators used sharp tools on the students who were treated in a hospital. The health condition of one of the students was described as "good," while the other students condition was described as "moderate."
