The head of the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) Fathi al-Jaghbir said the Friday total lockdown affected about 40 percent of local industries.

Jaghbir added in statements to Al-Rai newspaper that the industries affected by the total lockdown on Fridays include household item industries, restaurant industries and other industries that operate the most on Fridays.

He stressed the need to reconsider the one-day total lockdown.

Additionally, he said there should be some sort of alignment between the economic and health sectors, without neglecting one side at the expense of the other.

He lastly stressed the need to tighten control on facilities and ensure citizens' commitment to wearing masks without resorting to new closures.
