The Cyber Crime Unit at the Public Security Directorate (PSD) Friday warned citizens against spreading rumors by publishing old videos and photos as if they are recent, saying that these actions are against the law because they could cause other citizens to panic.

The unit pointed out that those who publish and circulate certain rumors, without verifying their authenticity, could face legal consequences.

The unit called on citizens to verify news and information shared on social media, adding that people should rely on official news sources for the latest news updates.
