Monday, the Jordanian Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), in cooperation with the World Bank Group, launched a guide for food establishments and catering services on how to prepare and implement effective COVID-19 related crisis management measures.

The Director General of the JFDA, Nizar Muhaidat, said in press statements that the guide comes as part of the administration's efforts to follow up and keep pace with the best practices, and global guidelines against COVID-19 in food establishments.

Muhaidat noted that this guide will be provided to the relevant authorities in a manner that ensures the application of preventive measures to protect workers, suppliers and consumers in all production and manufacturing facilities for foodstuffs from COVID-19.

He added that the guide includes precise scientific instructions and recommendations related to the general rules that should be applied in all food establishments and catering services, rules for catering companies, and self-assessment lists that can be used as a memo when preparing a coronavirus management plan in food establishments.
