Sunday, the General Director of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Nizar Muhaidat, announced the closure of a dairy factory in Zarqa after discovering that powdered milk was being used to manufacture their dairy products, which violates JFDA standards.

The factory was immediately closed and production lines were halted.

The dairy products, which included milk and cheese, beared forged barcodes which indicated that they were made using fresh milk.

Additionally, Muhaidat reported that the work conditions did not conform to the requirements of public safety.

Muhaidat announced that the administration's inspection teams in the Zarqa region carried out an extensive monitoring campaign aimed at inspecting dairy factories in the areas of Al-Dulayl and Khaldiyah to ensure that facilities are adhering to health requirements, especially with the raw materials used.

The JFDA urged citizens to contact them in the event of a complaint or inquiry through the toll-free complaints line at 117114, or through e-mail at [email protected], or via WhatsApp on the number 0795632000.
