The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), in partnership with the Public Security Directorate, took action on Monday by disposing of approximately 600 kilograms of non-compliant poultry in Al-Jizah district, Amman.

Nizar Mhaidat, the Director-General of JFDA, highlighted in a press release received by Roya that the poultry exhibited visible signs of spoilage and originated from an unknown source, as it was slaughtered outside the designated slaughterhouses. However, meticulous quality control and tracking operations enabled the identification of the poultry's source, leading to its seizure and disposal before it could be distributed to markets or reach consumers.

Mhaidat also mentioned that legal proceedings have been initiated against those responsible. He underscored that the corporation conducts regular inspection campaigns targeting all food establishments across different regions of the Kingdom, including poultry processing and cutting facilities, to ensure adherence to the approved health regulations enforced by the corporation.
