The Jordan Economic Forum (JEF) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Jordan Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a reference for local economic indicators.

The MOU was signed by JEF Chairman Khair Abu Sailik and UNDP Resident Representative Sara Ferrer Olivella. It focuses on joint cooperation on key development goals in Jordan and working on achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan in Jordan. The two parties agreed to highlight the importance of data and its role in policy-making as well as economic and development decision-making.

Together, both organizations will work on studies and develop policies regarding issues such as the economic impact of the coronavirus crisis on individuals and institutions. They will also work with youth on dialogue programs to enhance their economic knowledge, promote the concept of sustainable development and establish true partnership between the public and private sectors.
