Local media made clear that vaccine production was not affected.
Indian TV footage showed a huge cloud of gray smoke over the site in Pune, where millions of doses of vaccines are currently being produced to combat COVID-19.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
Last week, India announced the world's most ambitious vaccine rollout, expecting to vaccinate 300 million people by July.
