There will be no nepotism when it comes to COVID-19 vaccines: Al-Hayajneh

Sunday, during Roya’s Nabd Al-Balad program, the Head of the Coronavirus Portfolio Wael Al-Hayajneh stressed that the government will be working hard to ensure that no favorable vaccinations will occur, adding that no nepotism will be tolerated when it comes to the vaccination program in Jordan.

Hayajneh added that the ministry will follow protocol, as mentioned on the vaccination website, noting that all those who registered will receive a text message Monday, notifying them of the date and place of their vaccination.

Hayajneh stated that 200,000 people have registered on the vaccine platform in Jordan, and that thousands of Jordanians will receive the vaccine Wednesday.

The citizens and residents hold the right to be informed of which vaccine will be given to them, he said.

He indicated that the pandemic situation in Jordan is improving, but the vaccine does not substitute the need for precautionary measures.

When asked about the reopening of schools and universities, Hayajneh said that students constitute 26 percent of COVID-19 infections in the Kingdom.

Notably, the Minister of Education Tayseer Al-Nuaimi announced on several occasions December, that the reopening of schools and universities relies on the Kingdom's health situation and the pandemic curve.
