Palestine records 25 deaths and 1,064 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 25 deaths and 1,064 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Saturday.

The new deaths involved 14 in the West Bank (one in Tulkarem; four in Ramallah; three in the suburbs of Jerusalem; three in Jerusalem city; one in Jenin; two in Nablus, and three in Hebron), and 11 in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 86.4 percent, while the active case rate is 12.6 percent and the death rate is one percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 12 in Jericho; 22 in Salfit; 43 in Tulkarem; 102 in Ramalla; 17 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 29 in Bethlehem; 55 in Jenin; 42 in Nablus; 25 in Hebron; five in Qalqilya; eight in Tubas, and 704 in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 12 in Jericho; 42 in Salfit; 72 in Tulkarem; 182 in Ramallah; 166 in Bethlehem; 82 in Jenin; 197 in Nablus; 149 in Hebron; 15 in Tubas, and 560 in the Gaza Strip.

Currently, 119 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 27 are on ventilators.

A total of 3,225 PCR tests were conducted Saturday.
