Switzerland approves Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for use

Saturday, Switzerland approved the use of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine following a two-month rolling review, announced the Swissmedic regulatory authority.

"After a meticulous review of the available information, Swissmedic concluded that the Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech is safe and that its benefit outweighs the risks," the authority said in a statement.

However, the statement did not specify the date from which people would start to get the shots.

Pfizer-BioNTech is the first vaccine that has been authorized for use in Switzerland.
