Palestine confirms 21 deaths and 2,170 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 21 deaths and 2,170 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Friday.

The new deaths involved 14 in the West Bank (one in Hebron; two in Bethlehem; two in Jenin; two in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; one in Salfit; one in Tulkarem; two in Qalqilya and three in Nablus), two in Jerusalem City and five in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 80.2 percent, while the active case rate is 18.9 percent and the death rate is 0.9 percent.

The new coronavirus cases include 155 in Hebron; 148  in Jenin; 164 in Nablus; 75 in Tulkarem; 116 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 38 in Salfit; 29 in Qalqilya; 29 in Tubas; 89 in Bethlehem; 11 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; six in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 313 in Jerusalem City and 997 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 219 in Hebron; 163 in Jenin; 222 in Nablus; 90 in Tulkarem; 37 in Salfit; 39 in Tubas; 185 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 48 in Qalqilya; 574 in Gaza Strip and 214 in Jerusalem City.

Currently, 131 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 34 are on ventilators.

Friday, 7,163 PCR tests were conducted.
