Jordan confirms 21 cases of AIDS since start of 2020: MoH
Twenty-one cases of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) have been recorded in Jordan since the beginning of 2020, said the Assistant Secretary-General for Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Ghazi Sharkas Wednesday.
Sharkas added that a total of 463 AIDS cases have been confirmed in Jordan from 1986 until the end of 2019.
He said that the Ministry of Health (MoH) pays great attention to this disease which is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and affects the human immune system.
He pointed out that there is a center that provides medical consultations to patients and give them medicine free of charge.
Sharkas said that AIDS patients are considered among those who are in high-risk to be affected with coronavirus, stressing that patients should adhere to all health and safety measures.
