Unemployment rates in Jordan rise to 23.9 percent: report

According to a Department of Statistics (DoS) report, the unemployment rate in the Kingdom grew by 4.8 percent in the third quarter of 2020, now standing at 23.9 percent. 

It indicated that the unemployment rate for men during the third quarter of 2020 was 21.2 percent compared to 33.6 percent for women.

The highest unemployment rate by age was recorded in the age brackets of 15-19 years old and 20-24 years old, where the rate reached 53.1 percent and 45 percent for each, respectively.

The highest unemployment rate by location was recorded in the Tafilah Governorate, at a rate of 28.5 percent, and the lowest unemployment rate belonged to the Karak Governorate, at a rate of 18.4 percent.
