The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced it had contacted the Jordanian embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to follow up on a post on social media circulating of a Jordanian woman, wherein she mentioned that her daughter was subjected to abuse by her father, who resides in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement Sunday, the ministry said, "Yesterday, a Jordanian woman circulated a video stating that her daughter was subjected to abuse and beatings by her father, who is residing in Saudi Arabia."

Competent Saudi Arabian authorities were informed to investigate the case and to take the necessary measures in accordance with the law against domestic violence.
