Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad appointed prime minister
Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa named Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad the new prime minister Wednesday. The royal decree came after the death of former prime minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman on the same day.
"His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today issued Royal Order 44 of 2020 assigning His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, to chair the Council of Ministers," the Bahraini News Agency reported.
The new prime minister is the eldest son of King Hamad and has been the deputy prime minister of Bahrain for the past seven years. The Prince graduated from the American University in Washington with a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration and then got a Master's degree in Philosophy and History from the University of Cambridge.
