Italy to impose night curfew across country
Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte signed a decree Tuesday to impose an overnight curfew across the country starting Thursday from 10pm until 5am.
Additionally, Conte announced the closure of shopping malls on weekends, limiting movement in Italy's most infected regions, reducing the capacity limit on public transport to 50 percent, imposing distance learning in schools, and closing museums. Conte said other health and safety restrictions will be announced Wednesday and will apply until Decemver 3.
According to the decree, the twenty regions of Italy will be divided into three categories which are red, yellow and green depending on the scale of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Italy has recorded 39,412 deaths and 759,829 total coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
