'Our Jordan is a Paradise' scheme boosts local tourism
'Our Jordan is a Paradise' programme for local tourism has attracted more than 104,000 people, less than two months into its second season, announced the Ministry of Tourism and Antiques on Wednesday.
On June 26 and under the slogan 'Our Jordan is doing well', the programme was first implemented in the south and then expanded across the rest of the country.
Local travel agencies, travel bus companies and airlines also took part in the programme.
Approximately 49,000 local tourists made use of travel agency services, about 17,000 participants traveled onboard domestic flights and more than 24,000 took the free buses provided by the scheme.
The programme helped local businesses and tourism sector workers during the coronavirus crisis including 13 transport companies, 105 travel agencies, and 560 tour guides.
