08-07-2020 14:03|Eid Al-Adha is likely to fall on July 31, the Palestinian Astronomical Society announced.
Astronomical calculations indicate July 22 is expected to be the start of Dhu al-Hijjah—the twelfth and last month in the Islamic calendar.
If the forecasts are accurate, the Islamic holiday Day of Arafah, which falls on the day before Eid, will take place on July 30.
The new moon for Dhu al-Hijjah will take place on the evening of July 20, the association said. However, it will set before sunset, making the crescent impossible to see.
It will be visible the following day because it will set after sunset on July 21.
