Parks and gardens will reopen early next month following the country’s months-long coronavirus lockdown, the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced on Sunday, June 28.

Maintenance of the gardens in Amman continued throughout the pandemic and all 143 public gardens and 16 parks in the city have been sanitized, GAM spokeswoman Mervat Mheirat said.

People using the parks must abide by health and safety regulations including wearing masks and gloves, and maintaining social distancing.

On Sunday, the Jordanian Olympic Committee also announced public showers and changing rooms in leisure centres and swimming pools are to reopen provided they maintain strict health and safety measures.
