Palestine records 142 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine confirmed 142 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, June 24, bringing the total number of cases to 1,517, the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Alkaila announced.

Of the new cases, 112 are residents of the southern West Bank district of Hebron – the country’s new epicentre.

Alkaila said 13 other cases were recorded in Kafr Aqab town, north of Jerusalem, 11 others in Bethlehem district, three in Salfit district and three in Nablus.

Latest coronavirus data reveals that out of the total 1,517 cases, 1,311 have been recorded in the West Bank, 72 in the Gaza Strip and 206 in East Jerusalem.

Total recoveries in Palestine have reached 616, including 442 in the West Bank and Gaza and 174 in East Jerusalem, leaving a total of 896 active cases.
