Palestine recorded 88 new coronavirus cases, as announced by the Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. May Alkila, this morning.

The cases include 11 in the capital, Jerusalem, 74 in Hebron, one in Tulkarm, one in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and one in Nablus.

She confirmed that the sudden rise in confirmed cases is due to the lack of social distancing and people getting in close contact with COVID-19 patients.

The Minister announced that there were 15 recoveries recorded in Jerusalem.

As for the national numbers since the beginning of the outbreak, there were 616 total recoveries, 663 active cases, 1284 total cases and five deaths.
