One new COVID-19 case recorded in Palestine

‏The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday, June 17, a new coronavirus case. 

The Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Al-Kaila, said that a new infection of COVID-19 was recorded for a 29-year-old man in Ramallah, the son of a citizen who was previously declared infected in Hebron governorate, raising the number of infections in Palestine to 701 cases.

‏Al-Kaila confirmed that the Ministry is ready to face a second expected wave of corona, in case the number of the cases keeps increasing.

She added that the Ministry's staff and the Epidemiology Committee are examining the current epidemiological situation in Palestine and possible scenarios, with an increasing number of infections recorded.

‏The Minister pointed out that the citizens' commitment to health protocols and safety measures will protect the country from facing a second wave of the virus, urging citizens to take matters seriously and strictly adhere to what is issued by the Health Ministry and the competent authorities to protect themselves and their families.

She highlighted the need to adhere to preventive measures, wear face masks and stay away from gatherings as much as possible, stressing that all shops, clubs, barbershops, establishments, ministries, and public and private bodies must abide by the preventive measures.
