14 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Jordan today, including 2 local cases
14 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Jordan today, including 2 local cases

Jordan has confirmed 14 new coronavirus cases today for people coming from abroad, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 845, according to a statement issued by the government and the Ministry of Health.

The new cases are:

-Eight Jordanian citizens who have recently returned abroad and were quarantined in a hotel, including six from Pakistan, one from Ethiopia and one from Russia. 

-Four non-Jordanian truck drivers who were tested at the Al-Omari Border Crossing and were sent back to their home countries.

- Two of the cadres working at a hospital that receives COVID-19 patients.

According to the statement, 30 recovery cases were reported today, including 10 at Prince Hamzah Hospital, three at King Abdullah University Hospital and 17 at Queen Alia Military Hospital.

 "A total of 6,236 random tests have been conducted today, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 235,014," Jaber confirmed.

One of the infected people who tested positive a few days ago was using the Aman.jo application, which helped the concerned parties to reach to 39 people who were in contact with him after they received alerts, the statement indicated.

The Ministry of Health calls on these people to refer to the competent health authorities to undergo the COVID-19 test.

It also calls on all citizens to download the app in order to protect themselves, facilitate the process of tracking contacts, and expedite the detection of cases.
