Official: Public transport excluded from even-odd license plate policy

Public transport is excluded from the even-odd license plate policy, but included in the prohibition of inter-governorate movement policy, an official said today.

Salah Lawzi, Acting Director-General of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission stated that the public transport will resume operations after the official Eid Al-Fitr holiday, which ends this evening, in accordance with the government-approved safety and health protection measures that were put in place to curb the spread of the COVID-19.

The measures include non-stop bus rides, providing passengers with hand sanitizers, using face masks and gloves, and limiting the number of passengers to no more than 50% of the total capacity in compliance with social distancing rules.
