The Head of COVID-19 Crisis Management Group Operations, Brigadier Mazen Farayah, has announced today that as of 10 am on Sunday, April 19, the Aqaba governorate will be completely closed down and isolated from the other governorates, where life will be gradually back to normal in the governorate.

During a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, Farayah stated that citizens will be allowed to move on foot or using their vehicle from 10 am to 6 pm as of Sunday.

"All commercial establishments will be allowed to resume their work in the governorate from 10 am to 6 pm, while fishermen are allowed to practice fishing from 4 am to 4 pm," he confirmed.

He stressed that entry and exit from the city are not permitted except with written consent by the Aqaba Governor.

"The competent bodies are continuing to conduct random COVID-19 tests on workers in the health and services sector," Farayah said, stressing that universities, wedding halls, restaurants and mourning houses will remain closed and any type of gatherings is not allowed.
