The government will impose a full curfew in the Kingdom for 48 hours as of Thursday midnight, until Saturday midnight, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, announced today.

During a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, Adaileh confirmed that medical personnel working in the public and private sectors, epidemiological investigation teams and a limited number of employees and officials responsible for the work in some vital institutions are excluded from the 48-hour curfew and they were also notified directly by the concerned bodies.

He added that 200,000 families of day laborers will receive cash subsidies as part of the first stage to support the laborers affected by the lockdown.

"Curfew measures in pandemic-free governorates will be amended soon," Adaileh confirmed.

"Jordanian and non-Jordanian truck drivers will be allowed to enter the Kingdom, provided that they prove that they underwent a coronavirus test.
