The Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, has held a press briefing today to explain more about the 24-hour curfew that will be imposed in the Kingdom tomorrow.

Adaileh said, "the 24-hour curfew will be imposed mainly for the following goals:

First: Enable the epidemiological investigation teams from the Ministry of Health cadres to work efficiently and effectively and to reach all those in contact with the infected people so that they can examine them. This requires everyone to be in their homes.

Second: Enable the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and security services that follow up on citizens' commitment to the curfew orders to monitor and impose curfew in all villages and neighborhoods of the Kingdom. They would also be able to prevent any practices that violate the orders, as many were unfortunately spotted over the past week.

Third: Ensure that citizens do not gather to get the necessary needs, especially as they have been allowed to go to shops during the week and they will be allowed again as of Saturday morning from 10 am to 6 pm.

He reaffirmed that as of Saturday morning, citizens will be able to get their basic needs as it was the case before.

He warned against spreading rumors and fake news, stressing that the security services will not tolerate those who spread them.

"The battle against corona has not ended yet, but rather requires some additional measures, necessary and related to the movement of citizens, in order to limit the spread of the epidemic," Adaileh affirmed.
