The health status of COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid is reassuring and most of them are recovering, the official overseeing the crisis in the northern governorates, Wael Hayajneh, has said today.

"Nearly 90 people are receiving treatment at the hospital and most of them will be discharged soon," Hayajneh confirmed.

"So far, the total number of tests conducted has exceeded 2,000 and nearly 300 people who had direct contact with infected citizens in the city are being tested every day," Hayajneh exclusively told Roya.

He confirmed that fewer people are testing positive for the virus. "We want to have 0% positive tests," Hayajneh said, urging people to stay home and commit to the instructions.

He pointed out that the epidemiological investigation teams will reach out to various areas and will conduct tests for citizens in Ramtha, stressing that the situation is under control and there is an action plan to decide who should be tested.

He believed that the work will continue for at least a week until the "0% rate" is reached.

He pointed out that the epidemiological investigation teams are continuing their work in the northern region.

He stressed that the 24-hour curfew imposed in Jordan tomorrow would help the epidemiological investigation teams in their work.
