Jordan’s tourism revenues hit $5.8 billion in 2019

Preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) on Thursday, January 16, shows that the Kingdom's tourism revenues increased by 14.0% in December 2019, compared to the same month last year.

The increase was driven by a 16.9% rise in the number of foreign visitors, where the revenues reached JD309.8 million ($437.0 million).

However, in 2019, tourism income has increased by 10.2%, totaling JD4.1 billion ($5.8 billion).

The increase was due to an 8.9% rise in the total number of visitors, which reached 5,360 tourists, compared to 2018.
