Speaker of the House of Representatives, Atef Tarawneh, stressed on the importance of listening the public’s rejection of the amended Cyber Crimes bill, adding that the Council is following up on this topic with great interest.

Tarawneh said in a press statement on Sunday, December 9, 2018, that the public’s rejection to the law can not be ignored, adding that negative practices of some users on social networking sites to broadcast hate speech is completely rejected.

However, Tarawneh stressed that at the same time, cyber freedom of speech measures the public opinion through comments and opinions.

In his remarks, the speaker of the house rejected any limits put on the public’s freedom, and called instead for a cultural education regarding etiquettes of discussion.
