Qatari Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Issa Al-Nuaimi, said that a total of 1291 work permissions have been issued to Jordanians who submitted their application through the online platform for job employment.

In a press statement, Al-Nuaimi announced that the number of people accepted exceeded the pre-agreed upon figure, and that they are to reach 2000 work permissions in the near future. Permit-issuance process was in full capacity in both public and private sectors, he added.

The Qatari side has been following up with the recruitment website (www.JQPEE.jo) -which was created back on August 1, 2018- dedicated to Jordanian citizens who are interested in working in Qatar.

Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Ali Thani, directed the Qatari government to maximize its efforts in cooperating with the Jordanian Labor Ministry; providing them with an up-to-date list with all the vacant job opportunities in the various sectors in Qatar, and accordingly choose potential employees from the joint database that has all the submitted CVs.

Al-Nuaimi added that Jordanian employees have proven their efficiency both in the governmental and private sectors. "This is due to the educational system in Jordan" he added.

In June 2018 , Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, announced his country’s promise to provide 10,000 job vacancies for the Jordanian people. This came as part of a Qatari aid package provided to help the Kingdom get back on its feet during a time where economic challenges were causing a major crisis.
