Jordan to celebrate King Hussein's '82nd birthday' on Tuesday
King Hussein of Jordan passed away on 7 February, 1999, after losing his battle with cancer.
The Jordanian monarch would have been 82-years-old on Tuesday, 14 November.
In celebration of what would have been a special day, the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) is holding a celebration in his memory this Tuesday.
The event will take place at Al Hussein Cultural Center, where the Mayor of Amman, Yousef Shawarbeh, will deliver a speech honouring the man of the hour.
Jordanian poet Haidar Mahmoud will recite a poem written especially for the occasion.
The event’s program will also include the screening of a short film about the King’s life, a music show and an exhibition displaying the leader’s photos.
