At least 216 people have been reported dead in the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that hit Mexico City on Tuesday.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keeping a close eye on the developments taking place in the Mexican capital following the fatal quake, and has urged the Jordanian citizens affected by the natural disaster to contact the ministry.

This is the deadliest earthquake to strike Mexico since a 1985 quake on the same date killed up tp 10,000 people and left 30,000 injured.
