Israel restricts airspace over Ben Gurion Airport over security threat

Israel has restricted the airspace over Ben Gurion Airport, Palestinian news portal Safa reported.

According to Safa, Israeli police have issued warnings to the airport authorities for fear of a security threat.

While Ben Gurion Airport has witnessed mass confusion in its departure and arrival schedules because of the possible security threat, an Israeli channel reported that the threat did not happen at all.

Israeli sources later mentioned that the closure of the airport lasted three hours in the afternoon, after which the airspace was unrestricted and flight schedules were resumed.

Meanwhile, Israel has yet to post details regarding the nature of the threat.
