Twitter erupts in memes following Facebook, Instagram outage

Social media giants Facebook and Instagram faced a global outage on Tuesday, leaving millions scrambling (and failing) to access their accounts. This digital downtime sparked a hilarious trend on Twitter, the one platform seemingly unaffected.

"#FacebookDown" and "#InstagramDown" rocketed to the top of trending topics, as users flocked to Twitter to confirm their suspicions and commiserate with fellow social media exiles.

The outage inspired a wave of witty tweets, many poking fun at the sudden shift to Twitter. One user quipped, "Me calling my friends to check if instgram is working #FacebookDown." Another joked, "When you realise both Facebook and Instagram are down and everybody rushing towards X."

Of course, the situation couldn't go without a playful jab at Twitter's owner, Elon Musk. Several tweets jokingly referenced his delight at the unexpected surge in Twitter activity. "Elon Musk To Mark Zuckerberg After Facebook and Instagram Both are down..," one user wrote alongside a famous meme of Mr. Bean.

While the cause of the outage remains unknown, one thing's for sure: Twitter provided a much-needed outlet for humor and connection during the Facebook and Instagram blackout.
