Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, confirmed technical issues impacted their services on Tuesday evening. In a post on Twitter, spokesperson Andy Stone stated they were working to resolve the problem.

Thousands of users reported login and access difficulties across Facebook and Instagram.

Down Detector, an outage tracking site, documented nearly 500,000 Facebook reports and 50,000 for Instagram.

The issue appeared to be short-lived, with reports declining after an hour. The outage also affected Threads, Meta's messaging app, and caused login disruptions on Facebook.

Both Facebook and Instagram were back online within an hour.
