Authorities in New Jersey announced the opening of a wide-ranging investigation into an incident involving the display and discharge of firearms by federal agents during an operation to arrest a Honduran national last Tuesday in the Roxbury area. A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said immigration agents were carrying out a “targeted operation” to arrest Jesus Fabian Lopez-Banegas, a Honduran national described by authorities as “an illegal alien with a criminal record”.
