Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that an ‘Israeli’ drone fired a precision-guided missile toward a vehicle traveling near Abbas Junction west of Gaza City. The direct strike completely destroyed the vehicle and ignited a fire, which made it difficult for ambulance and civil defense crews to conduct an initial identification of the victims.

In the first official comment from the 'Israeli' side, Channel 12 reported that the army carried out an assassination that targeted Alaa al-Hadeedi, a senior commander in the military wing of Hamas, in the middle of the city.

The operation did not only target a military figure but also claimed the lives of civilians who were accompanying him. Sources confirmed that the children of al Hadeedi were with him inside the vehicle at the moment of the strike, leading to their deaths as well.
