Queen Rania Al Abdullah, accompanied by Princess Rajwa Al Hussein and Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, visited the governorate of Karak in southern Jordan on Sunday to extend condolences to the families of those killed in an attack on a local church.

The royal delegation met with bereaved relatives and community members at the Hmoud Charitable Society in the village of Hmoud.

Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II also visited to convey the sympathies of King Abdullah II directly to the families.

During the gathering, Queen Rania expressed deep sympathy to the families of the victims, offering prayers for the deceased and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.

The visit follows a deadly shooting on Friday targeting worshippers and mourners gathered for a service at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Hmoud.

The attack resulted in nine fatalities and left more than two dozen others injured, prompting nationwide mourning and official condemnation across Jordan.
