The operation follows an order by ‘Israeli’ authorities to establish a security cordon and seal off access points to Hebron and surrounding towns using roadblocks and checkpoints.

According to statements from the ‘Israeli’ military, the targeted military campaign was launched following a deadly operation earlier in the day near Hebron that left two ‘Israeli’ soldiers dead and several others wounded.
