Donald Trump is facing backlash after saying Iran could “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego, calling it a “small price to pay.” Trump said the comments while discussing the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran. The White House says he was describing the potential consequences of Iran having nuclear weapons, not encouraging an attack on American cities. But the wording has sparked outrage, especially in California. Critics argue that talking about the destruction of major American cities as a “small price” is deeply inappropriate coming from a US president.

Saudi Arabia says two airports near the Yemen border were hit as fighting with the Houthis escalates again. The airports in Jizan and Najran were damaged, and three people were reportedly injured. The Houthis claimed responsibility for attacks across southern Saudi Arabia, including airports and military sites. Saudi Arabia and its allies responded with airstrikes in Yemen. The fighting is also happening near the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, one of the world’s most important shipping routes. So this is bigger than just another escalation in Yemen. A major international trade route could now face even more pressure.

India’s voter rolls are at the center of a growing controversy, with around 130 million names removed from draft electoral rolls during a nationwide verification process. The removals are still provisional and can be challenged. But the impact on Muslim voters has drawn particular attention. In West Bengal, Muslims make up around 27% of the population but reportedly accounted for about 34% of voters removed or affected during the revision process. The Election Commission says the process is about verifying voter eligibility and removing duplicate, deceased or relocated voters. Critics and opposition parties argue that eligible voters could still be excluded. The final voter lists have not yet been decided, but the controversy is already raising major questions about voting rights and representation.

Five minutes of terror, followed by the loss of a home. Palestinian residents of al-Tur, east Jerusalem, say they were ordered to leave their residential building before it was demolished by the 'Israeli' army. Afterward, families searched through the rubble for whatever belongings they could recover. Resident Haneen Hreibat described the experience as “five minutes of sheer horror.” For the families who lived there, it wasn’t simply a building being demolished. It was their home, their belongings and a place they expected to return to.

Far-right ‘Israeli’ minister Itamar Ben-Gvir shares a video of demolitions in the Al-Tur neighborhood in East Jerusalem.

‘Israeli’ forces demolished a 5-story building containing 10 residential apartments that housed approximately 70 people (mostly women and children), citing a lack of building permits.

In the video, Ben-Gvir is seen sitting in a bulldozer cabin and walking near the rubble alongside security personnel.

He states that "this is what governance in Jerusalem looks like" and that ‘Israeli’ authorities will continue demolishing structures they deem as “illegal”.
