The US and Iran are back at the negotiating table as tensions remain high.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has now addressed the UN, defending Iran’s position and speaking about the ongoing conflict and its impact.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the United Nations that Iran has been a victim of terrorism, rejecting accusations that Tehran has been responsible for acts of terrorism.

Speaking in New York, Pezeshkian disputed earlier accusations from US President Donald Trump and defended Iran’s position before the UN General Assembly.

An Iranian official said those who joined Iran did so not out of fear, but to protect one another and strengthen collective security.

He said the message was about mutual protection and standing together in the face of threats, stressing that cooperation was based on solidarity rather than fear.

An Iranian official accused 'Israel' of carrying out widespread attacks across Iran, saying that strikes have targeted a range of sites and facilities.

The remarks also recalled the killing of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July 2024, when he was in Iran for the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Iran and Hamas blamed Israel for the killing, although Israel did not officially claim responsibility.

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said 'Israel' continues to carry out attacks and incursions inside Syria, including airstrikes, shelling and arrests.

Speaking in New York, Al-Sharaa said the repeated 'Israeli' actions reflect an ongoing policy toward Syria.

He stressed that Damascus continues to pursue diplomacy and negotiations to address the situation and protect Syria’s security and rights.
