Firefighters are bringing a fire under control that broke out in a pine plantation along the D106 in Arès, in the Gironde region of France.

"We’ve contained the fire on the departmental road, however, it’s entirely possible that there are flare-ups on the other side. We can’t see them because of the smoke," warns Salem Maïzi, the fire chief in charge of fire protection for Arès and Lège-Cap-Ferret, in the south of France.
