A massive explosion has destroyed a Blue Origin New Glenn rocket during a static "hotfire" engine test at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

The spectacular blast happened at roughly 9:00 PM local time at Launch Complex 36, illuminating the night sky with a giant orange fireball and shaking homes across nearby Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral.
