A massive tornado was spotted tearing through farmland near Saint Libory, Nebraska, as severe storms swept across central parts of the state on May 17. Footage captured by NOAA’s National Severe Storms Laboratory showed the powerful twister moving across open fields amid tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings.

The National Weather Service warned of dangerous conditions including baseball-sized hail and wind gusts reaching 70 mph as storms intensified across the region.
