Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation at his residence in Islamabad on Friday.

The meeting comes as US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to arrive in the Pakistani capital for discussions aimed at reviving peace negotiations with Iran, amid a fragile ceasefire in the region.

The proposed talks, mediated by Pakistan, are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions, though the possibility of direct negotiations between the United States and Iran remains uncertain.
