‘Israeli’ forces said Wednesday they stopped around 40 settlers attempting to illegally enter Syria after infiltrating deep into the buffer zone.
The group, identified as “Pioneers of Bashan,” is linked to a right-wing movement seeking to establish settlements in parts of Syria and Lebanon.
Authorities said they “strongly condemn this incident” and handed the settlers over to police.
Footage shared online showed dozens waving the ‘Israeli’ flag, with captions calling for permanent civilian settlement.
The group has reportedly made similar attempts in the past but was stopped by the army.
